Hafa Adai! Welcome to Guam!

Hello Everyone!  Yes, we have made it across the world to our new home--GUAM!  So far it's been one hiccup after another (for example, we didn't get picked us up at the airport, so we didn't know that we had reservations at another hotel along with a rental car, so we ended up staying up all night trying to figure things out and paying the cab rides all around, for a night at a hotel and a day of rental car.  That's just the first--then we find out that we got the wrong forwarding address, so everything that was sent to us during the month on July and August was returned!  Wow, just thinking of these two things makes me so mad!    Anyway there were many other things...)  We are just trying to learn our lessons from each mishap here--next move will be better, I hope!

The girls are doing great and we're trying to get settled and get into our routine.  I don't have many pictures of the island, but here is what I have so far.

Me on one of the beaches on base....amazing!
Us at the Guam Aquarium.
A sunset over Tumon Bay.
Life in boxes--they turn into tables and chairs for eating.  How convenient!
Isn't Maya just so dang cute?!

The one thing I have loved about moving around, is that my little family is growing together and becoming so close.  Analia and Maya just love playing (when Analia is not mawling Maya!) Like last night we did family home evening and we played the "stop/go" game down our hallway.  We had both girls laughing and giggling--it was so so fun.  And Analia is always asking for Maya to do things, asking if she can eat things, or asking is they can take a nap together.  She says that she and Maya are "bess frens".  It is so true and I hope they continue to grow together.

I've been called as a nursery worker!  Wow.  Such a change from YW.  If you guys have any suggestions, please comment because I can use all the help/encouragement I can get.  I know this is where I'm supposed to be, but sometimes it gets overwhelming always being around kids.  I've ordered the new manual, but it is going to take like 4 months to get here, for real.

Some other news is that Mike is going to deploy in January for 6 months to Iraq.  It's hard to swallow, but it is inevitable.  Right now I'm planning on moving in with Mike's sister Laurie for a few months, and then moving home for a while.  I have 6 months to split up...so we'll see.  I try not to think about it, but at night I find myself snuggling up closer to Mike and hugging him more.  I know it'll be hard, so I'm just trying to soak in all the time we have.

We love you all and we'll write more soon.

Wow! Lots of changes! Thanks for the pictures. I love seeing your little family. I am so sorry about Mike's deployment, but I appreciate his willingness to serve and your willingness to let him! I love the idea of playing stop/go for FHE. I'll bet Tyler would love that!

I am glad you guys made it safe (after lots of trouble!) It looks so amazingly beautiful there! I hope you enjoy it! As for the nursey thing, I get ya! I was just released as the nursery leader and it can be overwhelming in there! Just find something you can love about each child and suddenly it will become the sweetest place in church! I miss it already!

And thanks to you husband for serving our country! My bro is deployed right now and I know it will be the hardest for you and your kids! So thanks for your sacrifice and he will be in our prayers! Thanks!

I'm so happy you posted! Your little family is too cute. We should all be jealous of Iraq. It gets a lot of our hubbies time! (I am grateful they are willing to go though!) Take care and thanks for sharing your cute kids with the blogging world. We miss you guys!
Love,
Sarah

I can't believe you're in Guam! How exciting! Jason and I are hoping to get station there someday. We have some friends in our ward who just moved from there.

I feel your deployment pain. Jason leaves for Iraq in March. It'll be our first one and I'm planning on moving home to stay with family. Good luck to us both!

What a beautiful place to be. I'm excited for you all. It sounds like the girls are growing together so well, I love that. I'm confident you'll do well with managing them by yourself while Mike is gone early next year (even though six months will be a long time!). I'll be thinking of you. We wish you the best!

Holy cow! The picture of you on the beach is amazing. I'm so glad for technology that will keep us close even if you are "a day away". Your girls are so dang cute! I love seeing the bow too :)! You guys are such a cute little family. I love the picture of your guys all together. And hearing the stories of your girls playing together, isn't it the best thing in the world!

I am so glad you posted and sent out an email! I have been thinking about you guys for ages and checking your blog religiously. You look fabulous on that beach, by the way. And your girls are so big! Advice for nursery...run! Ha! Just Kidding. No advice here-just lots of treats and duct tape. That should do it. You guys are so cute! We miss you! Ryan is supposed to be deployed in January as well-wouldn't it be great if they were near eachother and could keep eachother in line?

Wow, some big changes! It looks like it's very beautiful there! We are glad that you made it in one piece (even with the bumps)! I've been checking and wondering. I try not to think about when Brian's time to deploy will come up. Right now they keep trying to make him TDY so he won't be here when the baby comes. I keep telling him to fit it all in before. Somethings are just out of your control. 6 months is a different story- we'll be thinking of you! Good luck and keep the updates coming!

oh, the deployment things does not sound fun...but maybe you and your girls could visit us in California?! We would love a visit!

And it is good that you are in Nursery and not Mike...those kids would get way too wild! You will do great in there. I do have a few tricks that I liked to do. I'll call you sometime.

Enjoy your beaches! I miss being so close to one.

How fun to get an update! You all look like you are adjusting to life overseas. I hope that you savor all the time before Mike deploys; it will help you through his absence. You are welcome to stop through California on the way to your sister-in-laws and visit with us! (I don't know where she lives...)
